Overview

UnderstandDocs processes pasted text or uploaded document content by securely sending it to the Anthropic API for analysis. UnderstandDocs does not maintain a database of submitted document content and does not intentionally store submitted text after processing is complete.

Data handling

We only use the submitted content to generate the requested summary or structured output.

At the application level, UnderstandDocs logs limited technical metadata for security, abuse prevention, and service reliability. This includes the request timestamp, IP address, document length, request duration, and error reasons when failures occur. These logs do not include the full submitted document text.

Your hosting provider or external services may have their own operational logging outside this application.

Sensitive Information

If your document contains highly confidential, regulated, or sensitive information, we recommend avoiding submission unless you are comfortable using third-party AI processing services.

Important Note

AI-generated summaries may contain mistakes, omissions, or incomplete context. Always verify important information independently before relying on results.
